Market Call TonightDuring the BNN program Market Call Tonight, the editor of Exploration Insight Brent Cook gave a comprehensive overview on “Junior Mining Stocks and Commodities” by answering questions of current and potential investors in mining shares.

According to Brent Cook big mining investments should be avoided in countries such as Russia, Mongolia, Venezuela and Ecuador due to the high risk of instability and corruption. He mentioned, for example that exploration projects with Russian ownership could be a very risky investment due to the involvement of the Russian Mafia.

However, he believes that places such as Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Angola and Eritrea are countries that are good to invest in due to the reliable actions taken by the governments in recent years. In respect to Eritrea he says, “I would definitely put money in Eritrea, I have been there a couple of times and talked to the government and they are under control“.

One viewer and investor asked Brent Cook on his thoughts about Nevsun Resources and their mining business in Eritrea. His reply was that the Bisha Mine is a fantastic deposit with a high grade gold cap they will mine and make a lot of money. He underlines that Nevsun Resoureces is a good company with a good deposit in a good country, which has its financing completed.

Brent Cook’s view can be supported by other analysts who say that at current metal prices, the Project is expected to generate enough cash in the first two and a half years to repay all debt facilities, in addition to further mine expansion. The Bisha Mine will be a low-cost gold producer for the first two years and a low-cost, high-grade copper and zinc producer for the remaining 10 year mine life. Further resource potential exists at depth and from nearby discoveries within the Company’s licensed areas.

For the next 12 months experts believe that the share price of Nevsun could go up to $2.56 or even $3.50, although Brent Cook thinks that the share price will be in the range of $2.50 in the next 12 months.

  1. The greet land of promising and hard workers people, and the dedicated Government who stands for the benefits of its own people. The government has lead good atmosphere and has build its partnerships who does respect our national political choice. Eritrea is open to open minded investors who already have invested their capital, like nevsun and other who are respecting the mutual interests. Eritrea will not let to the greedy dominance’s and do not give any reception of their parody sentiments.

  2. Any time a person with journalistic credentials advises you that they would put their money in a country and use words such as “they are in control:, do not trust them. They are either bought with money to publicize and fabricate false and uncertain accounts or to lead you to an investment where your money will be wasted, and your returns will be zero ! I don’t know the Eritrean prospect for gold. I frankly think it is unwise to concentrate on extractive industries at the stage of development that poor Eritrea is now. Furthermore, I have my doubts if the Eritrean Government or the Party leadership know what they are getting the Country to. In a recent news item, it was mentioned that the overhead cost for the Bisha project will be $200 for every $1000 gained. That is a whopping 20 percent. Add to that the cost of finance, licenses, contractual cost, consultations and legal costs, Eritrea has nothing left except a ruined topography, polluted ground water, and hopelessly impoverished citizens. The Eritrean government should assemble Eritreans to help in advising instead of excluding them from critical decisions that affect the future and security of the country.

  3. PProfessor Tsegay Isaac – You are are highly educated person at least you are studying or teaching there. it is a shame that you are trying to confuse people. I do not think you know accounting. probably you are reading history. the Nevusm said production cost. what is production cost? does that include all costs including the items you mentioned. Leave the calculations to those who are good at it.

What a contempt talk.. Where were you all these times you did not advise the government with your knowledge if you have any. now you poped up to belittle the hard work the eritreans are doing inclduing their government. I have known people who say exclusion.Who excluded you. you just excluded yourself becasue the poor eritrean people are not important for you. and now complaining of this and that. People excluded theselves thinking Eritrea is poor, they have the west where they leave in comfort, you did not want to know the Eritrean people.
Just we have heard such comments from people like who do not care .

  10. I am so excited about this news. I can never think issaias or shaebia is a problem of eritrea, however, poverty is. I get surprised when i see sold out ppl like some of you guys , who always have to bilittle what is theirs. Issaias is the best thing that happened to eritrea ever. I hope eritrea will soon afford to be in a position to buy you back from your false identities. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Eritrea doesn`t need your comments or your complaints at this moment. Please offer your helping hand because you unfortunately happen to be eritrean. What is so pianful for eritrea at this stage is note the poverty, or outside forces but just eritreans negativities. Be proud Eritrean and stop being negative. Let us all happily with patience build our eritrean identity. There are so many common grounds we can all work with…….

    peace to all.

  11. There is no dobut that Eritre is a good place to conduct business in, the problem is uncertainty. In a country where there is no confidence of changing government without violence can be very intimidating to invest in. Eritrea does not have that experience of changing a government peacefully, nor do they have any violent experience.
